MORE Care™ (Medical Oral Expanded Care)

MORE Care is an initiative of CareQuest Institute that aims to integrate oral health competencies and capabilities into primary care offices while building patient-centered referral networks with local dental providers using health information technology. Community Oral Health Transformation (COrHT) Initiative

The Community Oral Health Transformation (COrHT) Initiative serves as a learning community for the implementation of medical-dental integration and value-based oral health care. COrHT accomplishes this by bringing together stakeholders that believe healthy people and healthy communities are interconnected, oral diseases are systemic, and a transformation of health care is necessary for quality of life.

Additional Improvement Initiatives

Veteran Oral Health

CareQuest Institute is partnering with American Institute of Dental Public Health (AIDPH) to explore ways to improve veteran oral health care. The partnership focuses on studying the current state of veteran oral health and access to care and then developing data-driven recommendations informed by the veteran community. Both organizations believe that veterans need and deserve access to care in an integrated system that they have a voice in designing.

A Three Domain Framework to Innovating Oral Health Care

The Three Domain Framework builds on health promotion and disease prevention while supporting value-based care. Informed by the work of the Community Oral Health Transformation (COrHT) learning community, the Framework creates a primary care-like structure for oral health care delivery. It facilitates value-based payment models and enables patients to invest in their oral health.

Dental Data Exchange

As part of the Dental Data Exchange Project, CareQuest Institute helped develop the first implementation guides to help bridge the communication gap between primary care and oral health care. National partners and thought leaders, including representatives from the Department of Defense, the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization (FEHRM) Program Office, collaborated on the guides, which include critical information for electronic dental health information (EHI) coordination.
