California: Children Now requests emergent response funding to continue work towards objectives to achieve the Oral Health 2020 goal to eradicate dental disease in children by age 5. Specifically, they will provide technical assistance to the medical sites that have been participating in the Los Angeles County medical-dental collaboration project and continue their participation on various state and local oral health strategic advisory committees through which specific plans focus on increasing access to dental care for pregnant women and young children. Children Now will also continue to work with the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to determine the quantitative impact of the overall pilot, and to attend various state and local advisory meetings and conferences for which our expertise on oral health policy is requested.
