This investment supports the dental program at Everyone for Veterans that provides free comprehensive dental services to low income combat veterans who cannot afford proper dental care and are not covered by the VA. The VA rarely provides dental coverage unless there is a 100% service disability rating for veterans, leaving millions of veterans without dental care. Poor dental care leads to poor systemic health, and veterans are already at a higher risk for health issues. Everyone for Veterans’ program model involves general dentists and dental specialists who volunteer with Everyone for Veterans to provide pro-bono comprehensive services to veterans nationwide. They currently have a network of over 500 dental professionals across 32 states. They focus on comprehensive and preventive services, which lead to a decreased need for emergency services later on. There are other organizations that connect veterans with dental services, but many of these have a more restrictive qualifications for individuals to receive services. Everyone for Veterans’ sustainability plans include cultivating a growing list of individual supporters and larger donors with multi-year commitments. They have an annual gala that is fully sponsored by a major donor which produces significant net income. They also partner with several corporations who provide pro-bono services for the organization. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a temporary hit on the finances of Everyone for Veterans, but there is still a strong need in the veteran community. This funding of $10,000 supports the program costs of the dental program by partially funding a Program Manager.
