This investment supports the New Hampshire Oral Health Coalition (NHOHC) to continue to play a key role in working to expand the adult dental benefit in Medicaid in New Hampshire. This work closely aligns with the DentaQuest Partnership priorities to promote health equity in New Hampshire, engage grassroots partners in systems-change advocacy, pursue person-centered models of care through value-based transformation, expand access to public adult dental benefits. The coalition’s mission is to advance and promote oral health for the people of New Hampshire, and they have played an integral role in advocacy towards expanding the adult dental benefit in the state. Building on momentum and relationships developed during prior years’ work, the NHOHC was designated by the state legislature to be a part of a core group of stakeholders working to develop and design a comprehensive managed-care model for an adult Medicaid dental benefit. Specific work for 2020 will include: Ongoing participation by NHOHC and its partners in the Department of Health and Human Services Work Team to design the adult dental benefit and communication with other partners not in the group; development of framed communications materials about an expanded benefit; strengthening legislative relationships; and hosting convenings and other programming about the benefit and integrated care models. $141,378 will support staff time, in-state travel, meeting and office expenses, and other administrative costs.
