Grant Project Title
Honolulu Free Dental Clinic
Grantee Address

Aloha Medical Mission
810 North Vineyard Blvd.
Honolulu, HI
United States

This investment is to support Aloha Medical Mission as they continue to serve patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Aloha Medical Mission serves a population of 90% low-income patients, and 43% of patients are unemployed. They serve native Hawaiians and immigrant populations, with the vast majority of patients on Medicaid or Medicare, or uninsured. The clinic never closed during the pandemic, and they saw a 267% increase in patient visits between April and June due to the result of many losing their job, private dental practices closing, and FQHCs closing or referring patients to Aloha Medical Mission. They have lost state grants, and have had an increase in costs due to PPE prices soaring, which intensifies their urgent need. They have recently built a new dental clinic to better serve patients, and have been busier than ever due to the new location and increase in patient visits. This funding would support them through operating costs of the paid staff salaries. This investment of $5,000 will go towards operating costs through staff salaries.
