Colorado Association for School-Based Health Care (CASBHC) is a membership organization that supports existing and emerging School-Based Health Centers through policy development, advocacy, training and technical assistance, and quality improvement projects. This investment through the Executive Director’s Fund is to support Colorado Association for School-Based Health Care’s virtual annual conference with the theme of “Collective Resiliency and Renewed Focus on Equity”. The conference will be held virtually at the end of April. School-based health centers (SBHC) provide a multitude of services including primary care, integrated behavioral healthcare, oral health care, and social determinants of health interventions. Conference sessions will be focused on reducing health disparities, increasing racial health equity, promoting integrated care, and a presentation on a pilot program with University of Colorado’s School of Oral Health to advance oral health services in SBHCs, meant to be a learning model for the SBHC Network. CASBHC is also focused on increasing awareness and practice of health and racial equity in SBHCs, both at the conference and as part of the organization’s strategic plan. This funding of $5,000 will support conference expenses like technical support, virtual platform, speaker fees, and conference evaluation follow-up.
