Bayou Community Foundation (BCF) is a charitable foundation focused on building and sustaining the communities of Lafourche Parish, Terrebonne Parish, and Grand Isle in Louisiana.

This investment, through the Emergent and Relief Fund, supports the Bayou Recovery Fund, which was started in response to Hurricane Ida. The community foundation supports smaller grants to nonprofits that are providing critical relief, recovery, and rebuilding services to more than 200,000 residents of their service area. BCF stays up to date on priority needs through their network of partners and nonprofits. They are currently focusing on the immediate needs of those impacted by the storm but will transition to focusing on long-term recovery and rebuilding as the community is ready and able to do so. Funding goes directly to local non-profits on the ground providing services including food, medicine, shelter, and supplies to residents in need in the service area. To date, Bayou Community Foundation has redistributed $449,000 in relief grants to local nonprofits, and they have been partnering with other local foundations to help administer the funds. The budget of $25,000 would go directly towards relief grants to local nonprofits, with a 1% administration cost.
