Responsibilities of the organization include creating standards for the practice of dental public health, determining the qualifications of public health dentists, and formulating and executing policies around public health dentistry candidates.

This grant, through the Executive Director’s Fund, is to support the presence of speakers from the American Board of Dental Public Health to speak at the National Oral Health Conference hosted by the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors and the American Association of Public Health Dentistry on the topic of value-based health care in oral health. The symposium program focuses on the landscape of value-based health care, integration and implementation of payment models in oral health, and implications for stakeholders including patients, providers, purchasers, and dental plans. The program includes case studies from the public and private sectors and discusses the successes and lessons learned from these studies. This is a panel discussion with a question-and-answer component. The four panelists include Dr. Diptee, Dr. Okunseri, Dr. Allen, and Dr. Linda Vidone. The budget of $4,200 will support airfare, lodging, and honorariums for 3 speakers (all but Dr. Vidone) to attend and present at the conference held on April 11-13, 2022 in Fort Worth, TX.
