This project proposes to leverage existing programs engaging non dental clinicians in oral health throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island and incorporates key lessons learned by each program to expand the impact at a regional level. Funding will support implementation of a unified approach across three states to broaden physician training, including residency programs. Increasing the number of non dental clinicians delivering preventive oral health care will expand access. The proposed strategy has the potential to positively impact access to preventive oral health care beyond the three New England states and will build on progress made in other regions in the U.S. to attain results that can be a national model.
