A Systematic Review of Dental-Related Emergency Department Visits among Medicaid Beneficiaries

The results of a new study published in the Journal of Public Health Dentistry supports expanding insurance coverage in Medicaid programs to reduce emergency department use for nontraumatic dental conditions (NTDC) visits in the United States.

The objective of this study was to conduct a systematic review to assess the incidence of dental-related ED visits for Medicaid dental enrollees compared to those with other insurances.
