Oralytics™

Combining Oral Health Predictive Analytics with Care Management for Fully Integrated Care

Oralytics™ is intended to be an easy-to-use health integration service that combines predictive analytics – to identify a population’s or individual’s risk of having a systemic disease such as diabetes – and program design to facilitate personalized and integrated care. The service is intended to help payors, providers, and patients create individualized care pathways within care management approaches to support each patient’s unique needs while improving the health of the population as a whole.

Oralytics utilizes the expertise of the CareQuest Institute health improvement and data analytics teams in addition to assessing the risk of systemic disease using existing oral health data. Most current predictive analytics in oral health are focused on x-ray or oral imagery analysis for dental treatment decision making; automation of claims processing and fraud, waste, and abuse identification; or the development of apps or devices for direct patient care. Oralytics uses foundational evidence linking oral health and other systemic and chronic conditions to examine oral health data and tie it to chronic condition risk while helping providers identify alternate pathways of care that can increase access to health care services, improve quality of life, and reduce inequities.

Oralytics serves an important function to further demonstrate the value of oral health in overall care management activities.  A recent survey of dental providers conducted by CareQuest Institute found that more than half of all dental providers would be willing to screen patients for systemic and chronic conditions if there where techniques or services available to identify patients at increased risk for disease.

Oralytics health integration service is designed to provide full analysis of data as well as customized services to design a practice’s individualized care and population health management.  This service will offer improved identification of risks, predictability of care costs and, ultimately, overall patient health.
