CareQuest Institute issued a public comment to the US Food and Drug Administration supporting the overwhelming scientific evidence of the safety and effectiveness of fluoride supplements. CareQuest Institute urged the FDA to keep pediatric fluoride prescription therapies on the market and available to children and families who choose to use them.
The FDA sought public input on its proposed rule, “Use of Orally Ingestible Unapproved Prescription Drug Products Containing Fluoride in the Pediatric Population,” in advance of the public meeting on July 23.
Under the direction of US Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., community water fluoridation and fluoride supplements are at risk of being unavailable as a tool to prevent tooth decay.
